John Kerry

John Kerry, minister van Buitenlandse Zaken in de Verenigde Staten, is voor een kort bezoek aangekomen in Ny-Ålesund. In het museum wachtten Noorse onderzoekers om te vertellen over hun onderzoek. Maar John Kerry stapt op ons af en vraagt naar ons onderzoek. Wat een fijne vergissing. Martine en ik krijgen een stevioge handdruk. Het was ook een kans om minsiter Børge Brende, minister van buitenlandse zaken in Noorwegen, een hand te geven. Tijdens het bezoek van Bert Koenders aan Ny-Ålesund in 2015 had ik hem al ontmoet.
