We houden de kuikens in twee gescheiden groepen. De ene groep heeft een luxueus leven. Zij krijgen steeds eerste keus gras. De tweede groep heeft slechts tweede keus. Daardoor maken we groeiverschillen die we verder bestuderen. Gedurende de nacht worden de kuikens bij een warmtelamp geplaatst en krijgen ze wat extra voer. Hier zie je ze in hun nachthokken.

De wilde ganzen grazen zo intensief in het dorp dat er overal een dik pakket keutels ligt en eerste keus gras is nauwelijks voorhanden. We moeten de kooien steeds binnen een uur verplaatsen.
